Online to Offline: Setting Appointments
The goal of social media is to generate interest, start a conversation and then take it from online to offline as quickly as possible. Often we feel the need to go back and forth with questions and answers, sending information, links, even overcoming objections.
The truth is, if they’re open to getting more information, it’s best to develop the posture of consulting with them by appointment only.
We want to personalize and tailor the conversation based entirely on their goals and interest.
We provide solutions, which we can only do when we ask questions to understand the problem we are solving.
We want to build trust and rapport through genuine connection, which can only go so far via texting and social media.
We want to establish respect for our time and theirs, and by setting an appointment we’re able to do just that.
We likely want to include a 3rd party tool or mentor on a 3-way call, to validate the information they need to make a decision. This can only be done by setting an appointment.
While it may be a skill to learn at first, those who are interested will respect that you treat this as a professional and set appointments to streamline the process. When setting the appointment, simply ask which time is better for them. Example: “I have Noon and 3pm available tomorrow, which works best for you?” Keep it simple like this, provide 2 options, and book those appointments!
As Eric Worre says, “Show me your calendar and I’ll show you the quality of your business!”
